Coding officially kicked off this week for all of our Google Summer of Code™ students, and in solidarity we're kicking off this season of the Summer of Code podcasts.
For Episode 16, we were joined by Titus Brown and James Tauber from the Python Software Foundation (PSF). Courtesy of these two veteran mentors, you'll learn about the history of the PSF in Summer of Code, tips on effective
Many thanks to James and Titus for joining us!
You can download the podcast in mp3 or ogg formats. Then again, why not subscribe to it?
We're very excited to be bringing these podcasts to the community once again, and we hope that this podcast is a great start to a weekend of hacking for all of our students. We always love to hear your feedback, so let us know your thoughts. In particular, we'd like to know which projects you'd like to hear more about in future episodes.

It's a little hard to hear James every now and then, but otherwise the podcast is great.
I wanted to add to what Titus said regarding GHOP. I thought it was a fantastic program and it was wild to see high school students churning out solutions to the problems. It also got me thinking about how to pull new contributors in with bitesized things that can be done by new people. I've brought this over to Miro development, too--hopefully it'll help people come on board.
I definitely look forward to next year's GHOP.
James, you were right. PSF has 32 projects this year. Though I have interacted with you guys over the email, it was great listening to you both.
Leslie, Titus has also set up http://soc.python.org for all the Python SoC'ers. Thats a great motivation itself to see others working on the project and keep up with the pace.
